Lending a hand with NYC Parks GreenThumb
What is NY GreenThumb?
Since 1978, NYC Parks GreenThumb has grown into the nation’s largest urban gardening program—sustaining 550+ community gardens and empowering thousands of volunteer gardeners across the five boroughs. We love that. Afterall. Urban + nature = urture.
How urture is involved
This year marked our second time pitching in with GreenThumb, and we’re proud to call it a tradition now. Alongside Cindy Code and the Project EverGreen crew, who’ve been teaming up on these NYC park renovation days for 7–8 years! We rolled up our sleeves to support the spaces that bring neighbors together. GreenThumb helps care for more than 100 acres of gardens citywide, and spending a day improving even a small slice of that feels like the right kind of work.
Huge thanks to the landscape contractors who brought skill and muscle, and to every volunteer who showed up ready to move dirt, plant, clean, and make these community spaces shine. That’s green collar energy at its best.

What an honor to be part of this again! We’re already looking forward to the next one.
